November 10, 2015 Meeting Minutes
The meeting, at the home of Jackie Wayman, was called to order at 5:50 by President Karen Bowen. She introduced our guest speaker, Julie Drysdale, editor of our California State Newsletter and spokesperson for Schools for Africa.
President Karen Bowen gave the Inspiration: Do you believe in miracles?
A vote was taken and approved for membership of Jessica Aragon.
There was a discussion and Angela made the motion to play Left Right Center after a future meeting with a $5 buy in. All proceeds would go to Schools for Africa. The motion was seconded and approved. The particular month to play the game for a fundraiser will be determined in the future.
Because of technical difficulties, the Schools for Africa program was switched with the Initiation of Jessica Aragon. After the Initiation Ceremony, all members welcomed Jessica as a new member and pictures were taken.
The program began with Julie Drysdale sharing a video of the work being done in Schools for Africa which was started in 2004 by UNICEF. Delta Kappa Gamma Society International became involved in 2010. Pamphlets were passed around with more information.
