A Night on the Town

"Call Me Country": DKG Educational Foundation Hosts Nashville Event at the Wildhorse Saloon
The DKG ladies had fun and at the same time supported the DKG Educational Foundation at Convention this year. "Call Me Country", at the world-famous Wildhorse Saloon on Thursday, July 7th was the destination of 572 DKG women after several busy days of breakout sessions which provided participants with cutting-edge knowledge on communications/technology, educational excellence, empowering women, legislative advocacy, leadership, and much more. New to the convention this year were Hot Topics mini-sessions and Cyber Center tech trainings.
The Wildhorse Saloon, a former three-level historic warehouse in the heart of Nashville’s entertainment district, has been converted into a 66,000 sq. ft. country music dance hall, restaurant, concert hall, and TV production site. Horse sculptures and murals dominate the décor with many positioned for optimal “selfie” opportunities! The extensive “all-you-can-eat” buffet on levels two and three features award-winning BBQ selections and numerous side dishes, while cash bars on all three levels will quench your thirst.
The first floor space will accommodate performances by a live band and a DJ, as well as line-dance instruction for those wanting to kick up their heels. The second and third floors include a variety of entertainment venues ranging from billiards to shuffle board to big screen TVs. This is also the place for casual conversations with other DKG members and guests like Angela and Claudette with International President Dr. Lyn B. Schmidt.
