Program-
Area XII Director Karen Harmon spoke to us about Alpha Chi merging with our Chapter. To do this, Alpha Chi is dissolving their Chapter and their members are doing the paperwork to transfer to our Chapter, Gamma Zeta. Their Chapter funds will go into our Chapter treasury. Their Charter will go to California State archives. Our President and Treasurer will receive copies of the transfers. Alpha Chi members have the option of transferring to a Chapter other than Gamma Zeta if they want, however, all but one member voted to merge with us. The June meeting will be a celebration of the merging. It was suggested by Jackie Wayman that our Yearbook will memorialize Alpha Chi’s 70th Chapter birthday. Also, a member suggested that a photo be taken of each Chapter group and then a merged group photo.
Fresno Convention- Just under 500 attended. All enjoyed the interest groups and speakers. One speaker told about walking the world to raise money for breast cancer. It took 5 years to complete the walk, and the money collected at different stops was given to the local breast cancer program.
Angela Loya asked that $100 be sent to Paramount Education Partnership (PEP) as previously approved because of all that the city of Paramount has done for our group events. Suzanne will send the check.
Area Director, Karen shared a screen cleaner that sells at 3 for $10. Kim Goforth will buy them and she will be reimbursed by members. All members present were interested.
The meeting was adjourned with the singing of the Delta Kappa Gamma Song at 7:30.
Respectfully submitted,
Irene Lonergan, Recording Secretary
