Gamma Zeta/Alpha Chi End-of-the-Year Breakfast 2014 @ Mimi's Restaurant in Long Beach
Jessica Aragon, our New-Teacher Support Recipient for 2014, received a basket of "goodies" from Gamma Zeta to celebrate a successful first year of teaching. Looking forward to a fifth grade position next year, she graciously accepted a check for $275 for purchasing classroom necessities, from Angela Loya, Gamma Zeta 2nd VP, as her mom, Maria Aragon, a retired teacher from Paramount, looks on.
Dr. Sumie Imada, Gamma Zeta Scholarship Chairman, and our Grant-In-Aid Recipient for 2013, Raeann Marti, enjoy the Saturday breakfast meeting with members of Gamma Zeta and Alpha Chi Chapter. Raeann has recently finished her second student teaching assignment at Willard Elementary in LBUSD. She taught second grade students in a dual language, 70% Spanish and 30% English model. She especially enjoyed designing and implementing STEM lessons as she has been provided with professional development in her U-Teach Program and enjoyed planning and presenting Science Nights to the community. Raeann has been offered a few teaching opportunities but they all include relocating. We wish Raeann luck in her search and all agree that she would be an excellent addition to any teaching staff.
Alysen Noyes, Gamma Zeta's 2012-2013 Grant-In-Aid Recipient, and Gamma Zeta Recording Secetary, Irene Lonergan enjoy the breakfast at Mimi's Cafe in Long Beach.
